We don't always choose a career. Sometimes it finds us.
That is what happened to Catiele Ferrari.
Today she works as a Local Operations Assistant at Cotesa, but when she joined the company as a General Services Assistant almost 3 years ago, working in this field was not part of her plans.
Over time, contact with the daily routine of the operation sparked her curiosity. Catiele came to understand how the power sector works and grew interested in something that until then was new to her.
One of the moments that marked this path the most was the 2024 flooding in Rio Grande do Sul, when the crews had to redouble their efforts to keep activities running. The experience showed, in practice, how important the work done in her area is.
She also had to adapt to a traditionally male environment, something she now takes in her stride. According to Catiele, working alongside the team and living the routine of the operation showed her that what matters most is commitment to the work and a willingness to learn.
In this month celebrating the strength of women, she leaves a piece of advice for others thinking of a career in the power sector:
"We can work wherever we want if we have the will. Seeking to learn whenever an opportunity comes up makes all the difference. Knowledge and dedication are essential."
